COMMUNICATION ISSUES

The video in this perspective is keen to talk about cultural differences and language barrier. It analyzes in depth how language is essential for communication. Language is the fundamental tool for which people come together and comprehend each other’s thoughts and words (Ralph-Bowman & Fisher, 1999). With language comes the need of communication. Calloway-Thomas (2010) definition of communication is the intricate process by which people exchange ideas and information. People operate with communication as the linking factor in the society. It helps people show concerns, their feelings and their emotions. Communication sees to it that people of different cultural background get to interact freely and try to understand each other. The presentation in the video, in this case, is making this clear and gives examples based on the importance of communication.
The video talks on the need of communication to foster human relationships. I understood the video fully, and the message it tries to pass to the audience. It has humor and irony in it, which made me laugh with the audience. The use of animations to elaborate a point is indeed humorous. How the plot develops, and the animations change from time to time makes one feel amused and educated at the same time. It is a good and humorous way to present ones views and perception. The language that Mr. Laipply uses is English that is straightforward and easy to comprehend (Roman, 2013). It is also a real time basis, which provides the video with a real time analysis. It makes the viewer feel as if the happenings are now, even though they may have happened some time back. It is a superb way of showing the events and letting readers draw conclusions from them.
The movie emphasizes on the importance of introspection. It emphasizes that the 21st century needs a new transferal from the era of introspection, to the age of outrospection. Introspection is the art where people question their inner self and try to understand their reason for living. It was in use in the early days with famous people pushing for its use. The video, however, advocates for outrospection, in the 21st century. Outrospection is the idea where a person discovers his inner self and purpose in life by stepping out (Roman, 2013). One discovers the lives of other people, other civilizations, and their way of living. A good example of a person, who did this, from the video, is George Orwell, the author of The Animal Farm. The ultimate form for the era of outrospection is empathy.
Empathy in the video is the ability of a person to share the feelings and understand another person. There are two types of empathy, affective empathy and cognitive empathy (Roman, 2013). Affective empathy is one, which mirrors the affections of one, towards another. However, the video relies more on cognitive empathy than affective empathy (Rifkin, 2010). It is where a person fully steps into the shoes of another person and sees things in the view of the person. This, according to the video, could revolutionize human relationships and communications, as we know it today. Empathy is itself a form of language. It affects communication as it enables one to share and feel what the other person is experiencing (Roman, 2013). Change agents need a vast deal of empathy in order to revolutionize human relationships. There is the need for the value of outrospection for change movement, in order to modify the world as we perceive it and foster human relationships.
