FreedomWorks Organization
The FreedomWorks Organization was established in 2004 and was formed from the Citizens for a Sound Economy merger and American empowerment. Citizens for a sound Economy was the FreedomWorks’ predecessor in 2003, hence they arranged a big campaign to eradicate tax increase in Alabama. The state’s republican governor who alluded that it is of Christian duty to help the poor proposed the mission. This prompted 7,000 members to fight and defeat Gov. Bob Riley tax increase proposal. To date, though the Bush legislative attempts succumbed, the FreedomWorks continues its struggle and campaigns. Like many other organizations, the institution has a mission that drives it towards its daily goals and betterment of the services.
The organization’s mission is the need to advocate for low taxes, less government and added economic freedom for the Americans. This is made possible by merging the Americas policy entrepreneurs experience with the volunteer’s activist’s grassroots power (Zweig & Michael 118).
Formation Purpose
The organizational Freedom agenda is made possible by the company’s social security. The security task is to abolish estate taxes, implement flat tax, and limit tort liability .It helps in enlarging school vouchers. The organization is also involved in nominations of the judicial whereby it eliminates the filibuster; it regulates the industrial and environmental well-beings, and it is involved in the immigration and welfare (Patricia Powers & Stanley Wenocur 315).
What FreedomWorks hopes to accomplish
FreedomWorks Organization hopes to lower taxes to the people, assist in providing freedom for people who feel marginalized and create a less government to the people. Assist in aiding economic opportunities for the less privileged people. Encourage political representations for the people by the people.
The Structure of the FreedomWorks Organization
The structure of the FreedomWorks Organization comprises of the Chairman Dick Armey. Dick Armey was the former House Majority leader headed the formation of the organization. Jack Kemp who was the supply-side pioneer assisted him. They played a major role in the pushing of tax to a lower level. The major areas they were involved in were the inheritance and the investment sectors. Safety-net programs were brought up to assist in the achieving of their goals (Piety & Tamara 115).
Freedomworks Organization comprises of 800,000 full time volunteers nationwide. The volunteers helps in putting up National and individual campaigns. The entire Organization’s working staff consists of;
• Vice President who is in charge of the Federal and State Campaigns,
• The Director in charge of Federal and State Campaigns,
• The Coordinator of the Federal and State Campaigns,
• The Vice President of Public Policy,
• The Press Secretary,
• The Manager in charge of Interactive Media,
• The Staff Writer,
• The Vice President of Operations
• The Chief Economist and Vice President of research,
• The Office Administrator,
• Director of Foundations
• Director of Development
• Deputy Director, Development
• Development Assistant
• North Carolina State Director
The organization consists of affiliate groups such as the FreedomWorks PAC and the FreedomWorks Foundation.
Methods the FreedomWorks uses in accomplishing it goals
The FreedomWorks Organization uses different approaches to make it goals come true. Though it is not an easy task, it plays a big part in ensuring there is a smooth running in the approaches it has taken. Some of the approaches are; the organization trains and mobilizes the grassroots Americans so that they can engage other citizens and fight for their political representation in order to defend their freedom and their economic opportunities (Patricia Powers & Stanley Wenocur 315).
