State the rationale for this work (why is this work important, relevant, or interesting?)

Please notice those concepts before you start write.

Hypothesis: A hypothesis is a proposed explanation for some facet of how the world works.

Independent variable: the independent variable is sth that is manipulated in an experiment, and is not affected by other variables.

Dependent Variable: The dependent variable is a factor whose value may change as the independent variable is changed; the dependent variable is, by definition, affected by other variabes.

 

1 State the rationale for this work (why is this work important, relevant, or interesting?)

2 State the author’s hypothesis ( or, if this is not clear, their main question)

3 Explain what the researchers did. Was this an experiment or observation? Are the independent and dependent variables and control and experimental groups explicitly stated? If so, state them.

4 Describe the results and conclusion. Was the hypothesis supported or not?

5 In your own words summarize the “big picture” of this work. Use the words you’d use if you were explaining g this paper to a parent or a sibling who is intelligent and educated, but was not a scientist.
