Evidence-based Practice
1: Problem identification and finding the evidence Objective(s)
Length: 500 words max (Complete PICO table, and document data base search)
Task: This assessment contributes to student learning by promoting students’ reflection on their practice environment for the use and support of evidence-based practice. Students are required to develop a searchable question that is relevant to their clinical, public health or health services management setting. Students should select a situation in their practice that presents uncertainty of best practice.
Students are to develop a question to address the area of uncertainty, and demonstrate their ability to use the PICO or PS framework, and document a systematic method to search literature. Students should complete the worksheet provided and document their searchable question, key search terms, and evidence of their database search (i.e. using Medline, CINAHL or Scopus).
