Angelology and Satanology

Angelology and Satanology — Your friend Anna calls you after she watches a documentary on TV called “God vs. Satan.” She asks you what is wrong with the common understanding of dualism and the idea that God and Satan are two eternal and equal forces that will struggle for eternity. She argues that if this isn’t true, God created evil since we know that Satan is evil and God created Satan.

Keeping this scenario in mind, answer the following questions in your essay;

* Define religious dualism and show the difference between dualism and what the Bible teaches about God and Satan.
* Show how the biblical teaching about the origin and destiny of Satan contradicts the common understanding of (ethical) dualism. Include your understanding of Isaiah 14:12 – 17 and Ezekiel 28.
* What are the common objections to your interpretation of the two passages above? How do you respond to them?
* What are Satan’s limitations? How do they prove that he is not God’s equal but is in fact subservient to Him?
* Show how the origin of Satan explains that God did not create evil.
* Can someone blame Satan when he/she yields to temptation and commits a sin? Explain why.

You must answer all questions thoroughly and it must be from a conservative christian worldview. Use many sources from the Bible.
