REF: Late Application Explanation
This is to give a detailed explanation for my late application in your institution because I would kindly like you to consider enrolling me there. I am an international student from China applying for a Major in Economics degree.
As it would be known to you, the economy of home country China has been a rise in the recent past. This in turn has translated into more and more students enrolling in colleges there are lots of applications submitted to all the universities there. It takes quite some time for all the applications forms to be sufficiently perused meaning that replies as to whether one has gained admittance or missed out on a slot often come late in the day. Therefore, this my foremost reason for applying this late to your university – much time was wasted for waiting for a reply from a university I had applied to in China which I received not too long ago.
Having missed out on a chance at home, it took quite some time to dig for information pertaining to U.S. institutions of higher learning, before I ultimately settled for this great university. My decision to choose the University of Wisconsin Madison was informed by the great reputation of the institution which has grown it to be among the largest as well as most respected institutions of higher learning in the United States. There is no doubt that the University of Wisconsin-Madison is a leader in teaching, research together with public service. I love the fact that university treats education as means to influence and improve people’s lives beyond the classroom. In addition, I was also particularly drawn by the flexibility of the university in the sense that it does not make it mandatory for freshmen to live on campus.
In addition, there is the issue of SAT which I had to take in China. Prior to this, I had to seek out practice courses and training courses on the Internet because the SAT and Gao Kao. I had to prepare adequately by taking much sample test for practice because I needed to excel in the exam itself so that I may qualify for admission in an high standard American institution like yours.
Furthermore, I experienced problems in my traveling arrangements in that I could not get my student travel visa as fast as I would have wished. I found the travel visa requirements a bit more difficult and complicated. For issues I may not be in a position to explain, I did not receive my I-20 form from you in time. I had problems also securing a pre-paid PIN card from the China CITIC Bank because the online option was jammed. The interviews for all the documentation needed also ate significantly into my time.
It is my hope that you will consider my situation as a foreign student and the bottlenecks I have stated above that led to my late application for enrollment at this honorable University of Wisconsin Madison. I humbly request that you grant me a chance at the campus so that I may reach my dreams in the Economics major.
