Whatever one can do or dream that she can do about should start now. This is what my parents always told, me during my graduate years. People hold ambitious dreams, but they become afraid of pursing them. They become disinclined to take the thrust, waiting in anticipation of reaching the point of complete certainty, but their dreams never comes. This is the issue with commitment. One must take action on partial information. I have done my best in gathering all the best information regarding audiology, and the time to act is now. Until a person remain dedicated to doing something, there is indecision, the opportunity to draw back, always ineptitude. Regarding all actions of ingenuity and initiative one basic truth exists, the unawareness that kills countless concepts and impressive plans. My short-term profession goal is to attain a master’s degree in audiology from Macquarie University, a course that will help jumpstart a flat career. My long-term professional goals are to complete PhD program in the same field and secure a long-term job.

Things happen to assist the ones that would have never occurred. Notwithstanding my impressive performance in my graduate course, I missed a chance for pursing a Masters Degree program in clinical psychology after completing a bachelor degree in psychology from North West University in South Africa. This left me devastated and with no opportunity to secure a decent job in my native country. I left my country; my family and friends to foreign lands to seek for greener pastures. I have worked in diverse fields as an educator, an administrator, healthcare assistant, and personal care assistant in nursing homes, warehouse operative, support worker, server and a psychology intern. All these positions have come with scores of challenges but have helped me gain considerable experience in patient care. The challenges along with adverse effects of the “river valley fever” that left my father sightless inspired me to take a course in audiology. I like human sciences and hold interests in hearing sciences. I am interested in human rehabilitation and communication. Having worked with people with disabilities, the elderly and people with unique needs, I have developed a desire to help people. People with problems with communication have inspired me, and I aspire to assist them improve their communication skills and triumph over limitations of loss of hearing.

I hold a strapping educational background in psychology and law. The challenges I have encountered in my learning endeavors and my miscellaneous work experience have prepared me well to take a course in audiology. For numerous years, I have benefitted from the bustle and hustle of my career. I have exceeded my expectations; I hold a bachelor degree in psychology, a gripping work experience and a fabulous family. To attain a master program in audiology is a decisive goal to me. I trust that the audiology course at Macquarie University will expand my knowledge, ethical principles and skills that are crucial in my filed of practice. My insistence, commitment and desire to assist people with communication problems will help me achieve both my long-term and short-term career objectives. I believe that my application is the first finest and successful step towards an expedition of thousand miles that started with a single step.

I am confident my skill will be will nurture in Macquarie University given its stupendous learning facilities.
