Summary/Critique
An inclusive community based programs are more operational than interventions that are directed to the community or schools only in limiting illicit drug usage amongst the high risk young individuals. Several components and interactive programs are necessary in limiting drug usage. The extensive community-based programs are useful and applied in mentoring for the main purpose of preventing alcohol and drug use in the young individuals. There are several Anti-tobacco multi-component community interventions, interactive programs directed to the youth and various support groups that involve peer training issued to the youth by parents or other members of the community who abuse substances. There are however certain quantitative methods applied by the community that hinder contextual information. With the coming to being of technology such methods should be done away with. This same goes for certain models applied by the community which needs urgent changes.
Is community science a new field or a re-composition?
Comprehensive community-based programs are aimed to limit cardiovascular disease, smoking, alcohol issues and sexual risk that would results to HIV/AIDs as well as pregnancy. These programs take into consideration several government agencies inclusive of citizens and enterprises as well as application of varied intervention techniques like school-based and public education programs. The methods applied were able to meet the desire goals. Such programs directed to the youth were successful in preventing them from engaging in bad behaviors. Success was set to be acquired in programs that involved environmental and organizational policy transformation. Consequently, the techniques that were meant for local situations by the community were more fostered towards acquiring extensive behavior transformation when compared to external techniques. These programs have the ability to limit the drinking problems amongst the college people. A major criticism of the techniques is that they tend to overstate the problems of college drinking by using low threshold which is composed of various students who do not have experience in alcohol matters.
Are impacts of the community interventions more successful when they are in combination with individual intervention?
