Running Head: TECHNOLOGY IMPLEMENTATION

Technology Implementation

Introduction

The introduction of an information system is a technology that is used to assist the client to adapt to the processing of information in a more efficient manner. An information system allows the user to retrieve and acquire information from the database. The information that is acquires makes it possible for the organization to make necessary decisions that will impact the company at various levels.

Project plans

The planning process of an organization is meant to change the prevailing situation. Varied aspects impact the success of the information system. The End User Information System (EUIS) analysts have to be technically experienced and should be ready to impact the change that is needed. The analyst has to know of the ability and impending innovations of the optimum interconnected technologies of the present business market and how to put them to work in the company (White, May 7, 2011). The higher management as well as the organization has to get an understanding of the need and benefits of the new information system. The view from the end user impacts on the success of the project. To enable the success of the project clients have to acquire knowledge of the new system and handle any issue of vagueness.

Implementation plans

The implementation involves ERP, Billing, BI/KM, and e-learning among others (MMS, 2012). The analysts have to note that technology is a facility applied to effect the change. It needs the programmers to be workable. Throughout the implementation process there are certain variables to be taken into consideration; the process done by the technology, there is the people aspect which deals with the skills and behavior, the structural aspect which deals with authority and management and there is the technological aspect which deals with the techniques and equipment to find a solution, with all of these variables being reliant on the EUIS analyst while undertaking the implementation process. The analyst is to note the aspect which can be impacted and which he cannot, this is meant to elevate the driving force. The change is implemented through education of the top management and users of the benefits of the technology.

Training plans

The change that is destined to take place in an organization is a learning process and the behavior of the person changes. Training the staff and management is a key part of the changed process. These, according to Lewin, are termed to as the point in the process where analyst issues the reason for the transformation. The staff is able to know the benefit of the change and the why the change is necessary hence eliminating any form of hindrances. The analyst offers a better environment conducive for the learning process. The next stage, changing, involves the acquisition of the new knowledge takes place. The staff takes up the new processes and transforms their behavior mode to allow for change. The last step is refreezing which steadies the new procedure. It is complete if the new behaviors are an integral part of the company’s cord of behavior and procedures are in application.

Support Strategies

This is necessary for any implementation of a new technology. The analyst has to keep in mind the financial and management support of the company’s top management in the beginning stage. The staff has to get a prior knowledge of the planned change as a best practice. This is necessary as it would be helpful in making them take responsibility for making the propose change to take place. The top management and analyst assist in propelling the change through offering of incentives and support for initiating the change. Consequently, the procedures and staff behaviors are transformed, it is necessary for the analyst to observe the outcome of the new process. There should be standards that are set so as to make it possible for the analyst to find out if the procedure transformation impact the wanted outcome as well as make it possible for him or her to note the erroneous area present in the process. With changing taking place, it is hard to exact reason and impact of certain cases. Acquiring crystal goals and standards as a substitute makes it possible to offer precise support at a tactical point in the whole process.

Conclusion

The implementation of the information system is vital step that the organization is taking. The analyst used for the change should be able to see a better flow of the change process. External aspect is quite vital in the whole change process. For successful implementation, the most beneficial technologies for the company are to be noted which in this case it is the information system. The top management acquires a better understanding as to why this change is necessary. Training and support is offered while the implementation is in place, this is set to avoid any back falls while the change has already taken place as well as to be in coherence with the behavior of the staff. They will hence adapt to the change process. For successful implementation the analyst has to possess the necessary skills, tools and experience to incorporate the change.

The acquisition and retrieval of information is set to be achieved from the database, this will hence make it possible for the company to make vital decisions. The technology is set to achieve the objective it is set to achieve with the full support of the top management as well as the staff. No part of the change process is able to take place without portrayal of the right form of behavior form; through financial support as well as behavioral support.
