Details are as follows:
The Paper should be at least 1000 words (not including annotated bibliography), and will be decided into 2 parts. (roughly 500 words each)
Part One: Outline the history of the museum. Some aspects you might cover are as follows: Outline the history and development of the museum. Who owns the museum? Is it a public or
private museum? Or is it a public museum operating as a company?
How, when and why was it founded? What was the mission? Who were the founders? How has it been funded?
Give details of the original collection. What do you see as the specific characteristics of the collection?
Discuss the categorisation of the collection. Is it developed and displayed in sections? What are they?
Part Two: Give a current profile of the museum. Some aspects you might cover are as follows:
What do you know of the contemporary operations of the museum? What do you know of the operating budget, the personnel (what kinds of jobs are done? by how many people?), the administration, the executive board (who are they?)?
What is the present policy towards the collection? Is it loaned, exhibited and expanded in specific ways?
Does the museum do research and publish? In what field?
What do you know of the statistics of the museum in terms of: the collection (how many objects), the square meters of exhibition space, the annual numbers of visitors?
From where are the operating funds derived?
Please provide an annotated bibliography(this is a must). And attach any relevant appendices.
