– Subtopic would be “Why is Football (Soccer) not popular in USA? – In this assignment we have to pick a quality text (a peer-reviewed article, book or something similar) which deals with the same topic, but we have to defend (or argue) a different position than the one in the book or article we picked (it does not necessarily have to be opposite, but it must be different. – This is what our professor sent to us: 1. a description of the main positions and ideas in the text (use quotes, paraphrases etc.);
2. a schematized summary of the main arguments (and sub-arguments) in the text (use the form Premise 1, Premise 2… Conclusion etc.);
3. your refutation or criticism of the main ideas in the text (e.g. attack the premises, or show that the author committed a fallacy, or show that not insufficient evidence has been presented etc.) And we need to use at least few analogical evidences. Please do not use TurnItIn, because our professor will use it.
