Response to Posting by Jackie Faison on “GENDER PAY EQUITY”
I found this posting particularly interesting because of the sensitive topic it tackles. My reading of the post dares me to ask one probing question: “Is the wage gap between the genders really that wide?” Information I gather from the National Committee on Pay Equity seem to paint a not so glim picture as one expressed in the posting (ILO, 2007). Statistics from a census released in September 2011 on the median earnings of all full-time, all-year round workers showed that women’s earning were 77.4 percent of men’s earning in 2010. this, compared with half a century ago when women earned just 61 percent of what men pocketed. However, it is true as expressed in the posting that women working full-time, year-round earn less than men in the same bracket (Eyraud & ILO, 1993).
In order to close the gender pay gap, there is need to pass and implement the PayCheck Fairness Act (PFA) to strengthen and update the Equal Pay Act of 1963.

This article delve into the subject of the Comprehensive Transition Plan (CTP) as pertains to the Army. It was informative to me as I learned the correlation between CTP and other Human resource elements that serve to improve the Army (Williamson, 2009). It is within my understanding that the CTP is an individual goal setting process under implementation for wounded, ill, as well as injured soldiers assigned to the Army’s Warrior Transition Units (WTUs) or Community-Based WTUs (CBWTUs). As such the CTP plays a key function of providing a focused, goal-targeted path for recovery and transition speeding up healing. This prepares the soldier and family for future success after all the medical aspects of the rehabilitation process. There is no doubt that the successful implementation of the CTP would require the effort of the HR departments, managers together with the employees (Garrett & Rendon, 2006).
