English XL3: Essay Two Prompt
Your second formal paper for the course will be much like the first: please write
an expository essay on a topic related to food. Any topic related to food is acceptable.
For instance, you could connect Chipotle’s decision to remove pork from their menu to
issues in livestock production, or you could write about the Obama administration’s
decision to bring all food-related regulation under the authority of a single federal agency
instead of leaving it divided between the USDA and the FDA, as has been the case for
many years. Try to be creative in your choice of topic and intelligent in your analysis.
Please feel free to use a topic from one of our readings or viewings if it interests you.
Food-related articles are still popping up in the news every day. Here are a few
random stories that have come to my attention since our first essay prompt. You have
doubtless come across others. Please feel free to share them with the rest of us in your
Discussions.
