Case study of advertising

Have you noticed that some products (brands) have similar packaging, similar shapes, similar brand names, and similar advertising executions (e.g., similar background, music, human models, etc.)? Take a look at the video clip which demonstrates that there are many look-alikes in a grocery store.

The amazing Coles product lookalikes

In most cases, private-label brands (store brands) are copycats in the sense that they imitate name brands. Perhaps, the strategy of store brands is intentional and/thus some legal issues can be involved (e.g., copyright, trademark, etc.). For your assignment, please do not consider any legal issues. Only consider the consumer behaviour issues.
Do you think the strategy (i.e., look-alike packaging) works or not? If it works, how and why? Present your arguments using concepts/theories.
Noted: there is one theory that I Will upload for you as reference to support you argument about this case.
