- Capital Expenditure as a crucial decision of business organisations in UAE.
Overview
My proposed research paper is intended to shed some light on companies’ capital expenditure (CAPEX), what it is, how it is calculated, its importance to management and shareholders and its effects on revenues and cash flows. The amount of capital expenditure undertaken by companies in order to remain competitive in the cut throat competitive markets. Specifically, the emphasis is given on the CAPEX maintained by companies operating in the booming market of the UAE.
Aims and objectives
I am planning to study “capital expenditure” thoroughly throughout the various sections in my paper.
The questions I intend to answer throughout my research paper include but are not limited to the following:
• How do capital assets differ in different industry sectors?
• What is the value of fixed assets maintained by the companies in UAE?
• How much capital expenditure (capex) is undertaken by the companies?
• Does capital expenditure of companies depend on the sector they are operating in?
• Is the capex of a company maintained at a fixed proportion on the assets?
• How much is the year-on-year growth for the capex in each of the companies?
My research paper will then stem out of the previous questions. By the end of my research paper I would like to have the utmost confidence in stating the effects of capital expenditure, and perhaps recommend a few suggestions to firms.
I will start by researching the topic both generally and specifically with regards to the 30 firms chosen, then analyzing the data collected on the firms and stating my findings which will hopefully lead to answering the previous questions throughout my paper.
