In order to accomplish and achieve the objectives and goals in relation to the development of the durable and cost effective structures and systems, it is ideal to adopt and implement isolation materials effectively and efficiently. This research paper will focus on the types of the isolation materials within structures, methodology in the application of the isolation materials, reasons behind the use, and availability of isolation materials are applicable within the concept of civil engineering.
Introduction
The development of durable structures and systems is vital for the economic strength of the society or the nation. This is because of the relevancy of the cost of the civil infrastructures in the development of the national wealth. The development of the structures should also focus on the achievement of cost effective systems with the aim of minimizing the essence of the financial burden on the consumers or taxpayers who adopt the buildings for their purposes. In order to accomplish and achieve the objectives and goals in relation to the development of the durable and cost effective structures and systems, it is ideal to adopt and implement isolation materials effectively and efficiently (Hall et al, 2010). This makes it critical to under on the concept of the isolation materials within the structures with the aim of obtaining quality structures for the current and future purposes. This research paper will focus on the types of the isolation materials within structures, methodology in the application of the isolation materials, reasons behind the use, and availability of isolation materials are applicable within the concept of civil engineering.
Aim of project
The aim of this research project is to enhance the knowledge on the concept of isolation materials in structures. This is through focusing on the types of the isolation materials applicable in enhancing the quality of the structures towards the realization of the objective of durability and cost effective buildings. The other aspect of the research project with enhances knowledge through understanding of the methodology applicable in the concept of isolation materials within structures. This research project also aims to understand the reasons behind the adoption and implementation of the isolation materials within the structures. This is vital for the increase in the awareness and implementation of the tactic to improve the quality of the structures. The last objective or aim of this research project will highlight on the areas where isolation materials on the structures are applicable. This is vital towards the contribution of the national wealth in relation to the aspect of civil infrastructures of the development of quality, durable, and cost effective structures and systems.
Reason behind choosing this project
There is a great need for the achievement of the quality and durability in relation to structures or buildings within the modern society. The increase in the population is also essential towards the growing stress on the scarce structures thus the need for the development of further structures to carter for the basic needs. Civil infrastructures are also key contributors towards the development of the national wealth. This makes it critical to understand the concept behind the achievement of quality and durable buildings with the aim of meeting the preferences and capabilities of the consumers within the market. Isolation materials in the structures reflect some elements towards the achievement of the goals and objectives of durability. This makes it critical for the research exercises to contribute towards the enhancement of knowledge on the concept of isolation materials in structures. This illustrates the reason behind the need to execute research practice on the concept of the isolation materials in the structures.
Types of the isolation materials
There are several types of the isolation material applicable in the modern society in relation to civil infrastructures. Some of the types of the isolation materials contributing towards the enhancement of the quality of the structures or buildings in the modern society include heat proof, waterproof, base isolation, and seismic isolation (Ballast, 2009).
Methods of applying the isolation materials
There are unique methods in the application of the isolation materials on the structures or buildings within the modern society. The unique methodology depends on the type of the isolation material to be applicable for the protection of the structures and humanity. An example of methodology is the application of the rubber bearings mounted between the building and the relevant foundation with the aim of curbing the vibration force of the earthquake. The method of the prevention of water destruction of the structures involves the application of the waterproof materials during the construction process. This enhances the stability and durability of the structures against adverse conditions such as floods (Hall et al, 2010).
Why we use isolation materials in structures
It is essential to integrate and incorporate the concept of isolation materials within the development of durable structures thus the opportunity to improve the quality of the buildings for the current and future purposes. Isolation materials are vital towards the enhancement of health and safety of the humanity. This is because of the increased nature of protection relation to the adverse weather conditions thus limiting the extent of damage to the residents or occupants of the homes. Another reason for the adoption and incorporation of the concept of isolation materials in the structures is to reduce the extent of the natural disasters such as earthquakes. Base or seismic isolation is essential in reducing the effect and extent of the aspect of earthquakes on the structures within the modern society. This makes it crucial for implementation in the designing process with the aim of reducing the extent of property destruction thus financial burden on the consumers. Waterproof materials are also essential in the minimization of the damage to the structures under the influence of water thus the opportunity to increase the durability and quality of the structures. Heatproof materials are essential in the minimization of the electricity damage resulting into destruction of properties and loss of lives. This concept is vital in the improvement of quality, health, and safety of humanity.
Where do we use the isolation materials in structures?
Isolation materials are mostly applicable in areas that experience adverse weather conditions or natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunami. This is because the isolation materials are vital towards the protection of the lives of the occupants while limiting the damage to the properties or structures. Isolation concept is also common in areas massively affected by floods. Base or seismic and waterproof isolations are common in areas such as Japan and New Zealand experiencing cases of the adverse weather conditions.
Conclusion
Isolation is an important concept in relation to the achievement of the goals and objectives of durable and cost effective structures within the modern society. Isolation is essential in the enhancement of the health and safety of the occupants of the structures or buildings. This is through limitation of the extent of destruction to the properties through adverse conditions such as tsunami, earthquakes, and electric failure. This makes it critical to integrate and incorporate activities such as waterproof, heat proof, base, and seismic isolation in the modern structures.
