Fredrick law Olmsted images projects
Frederick is seen as the main architect in the American history and his designs still are the outstanding among the many designs that have been drawn. Frederick was so skilled that his designs are old but eye-catching. He had some principles he followed while drawing the designs and they are the ones that make his designs outstand others up to this day. He designed so many things and more so the universe best parks ever, he designed the Americas white house, the Washington Park and Prospect Park in Brooklyn among many other structures.
Frederick had created his own principles that helped him in the creation of the beautiful sites. One of the principles was that he respected the sites landscape so much that he would try as much not to interfere with the landscape. He would rather redraw the sketch to fit on that landscape than do something that will not match with the landscape. For instance, Frederick would leave a landscape that was muddy or rainy for a park but not for a school or college.
The second principle was that he never considered something that was on the landscape before he designed the structure to be part of beauty to what he intended to place there. If he found the trees on the landscape, he would remove them and plan how he will make the place beautiful according to the structure he is designing. The third principle was that one should try as much to hide everything from the viewers in that the viewers would have un answered questions. He did everything to stop the viewers from noticing what he did from the first sight and instead wonder how it was done.
Olmsted also did his designs in a way that one moving around would get lost without having the knowledge that he or she is being lost but also created in a simple way make one that is lost back to the starting point. For example, if you get to one of his parks one just goes on and get dipper into the park without the consent. He also did not consider modernity in his designs and he tried as much to keep the environment around look natural. He goes ahead and says that education was not that necessary for one to draw the designs he says that he got familiarized with the landscape for he liked travelling.
Frederick says that one’s designs should care for the natural environment around for instance, he says that plants should not be watered to grow but the natures drainage should take care of that. Olmsted had his unique way how he handled his designs and he smiled at everything be it good or bad. Some praised him for his designs, some did not like them for, and he had similar reaction for them. He never frowned at anyone for his comment, Frederick made his designs unique that even the after the construction the natural environment was maintained. This was done to avoid the cutting of the dependence of the natural features around the structure he was making.
