Men’s outfit, 1965 – 1971 (Jeans)
Denim jeans are one of the popular fashion garment used by both the male, female and young children from all the origins. The popularity and the large number of the people purchasing the jeans make the outfit to be ranged as one of the versatile fashion of the twentieth century. Used for various occasions, the Denim jeans are well known for the long lasting nature (Lewandowski, 2011, p. 67). The jeans are known for lasting for various years without losing the color and the textile. The manufacturing company of the Denim jeans, the Amco has tried as much as possible to maintain the top of the list and the satisfaction received by the customers. Most of the jeans made by the Amco Company are known to last for various years without any change in the design and the texture used in the creation of the piece of cloth.

The Denim jeans have a diverse history dating from the ancient times when the natives in Australia used the fashion garment. The Denim jeans were made and most of the Australian citizens embraced the designs and fashionable styles of the jeans. In the first years of the introduction of the Denim jeans into the Australian market, the young men and women used to put on the jeans (Shannon, 2006, p. 121). This was a symbol that the young members of the Australian nations were independent and youthful hence capable of developing the nation.
However, in the mid 18800s the prospectors on the California goldfields used Denim jeans and dungarees. These garments were used as purely functional to ensure that there were no injuries in the goldmine. The owner of the mines also preferred the Denim jeans and dungarees since the prospectors would not steal any gold from the mines. For this reason, most of the instructors and the owners of the mines insisted on the workers wearing the Denim jeans before reporting to the gold mines for work. Later in the same century, the Denim jeans and dungarees become popular hence increase in use all over the universe (Ruhrberg & Walther, 2000, p. 71).

The farmers, industrial workers and cowboys in most parts of the United States of America saw the Denim jeans in usage. Later, in the suburban America, the Denim jeans were used as casual wears clothing among the young men and women. This was between the years 1930 to 1940 when the Americans admired the masculine non-interventionist of the cowboys who used the Denim jeans and dungarees. Since the interests of the Americans in usage of the Denim jeans increased, various manufacturing industries and designers began using the Denim jeans to promote their own business Lewandowski, 2011, p. 88). The large number of the suburban Americans also encouraged other manufacturers to emulated the designs and textile produced by the Amco firm. Numerous designers in America for instance, Claire McCardell encouraged the rest of the American population in using the Denim jeans outfit. Since she used the Denim jeans in her fashion ranges, this boosted the up market of the Denim jeans in various locations in America.

In the year 1950s, the mood in relation to the usage of the Denim jeans changed immediately because of various icons using the outfit. Icons of youthful rebellion such as Marlon Brando, James Dean and Presley Elvis also played a major role in changing the usage of the Denim jeans. In the years 1960s and 1970s, the Denim jeans were used in a similar manner to the uniforms especially in the young and elegant members of the society (Shannon, 2006, p. 135). Almost all the young people were seen in the Denim jeans with a shirt on the top part of the body. The jeans fashion took over in most of the developed nations and all the young men preferred nothing else apart from Denim jeans. The manufactures of the jeans in the various nations increased the advertisement with the latest designs in the marketplaces. All the members of the society were triggered into purchasing the jeans products. Even the parents were also swayed in the jeans era because of the less efforts used in wearing the jeans. The young children were also included in the jeans fashion since small sizeable Denim jeans were also available. The increase in demand of the Denim jeans in the 1970s made the Amco firm to become one of the most popular clothing firms in not only Australia but also the entire universe Lewandowski, 2011, p. 102).

In the end of the 1970s era, the Denim jeans were used in the catwalk to represent the latest fashion garment in the entire world. However, the Calvin Klein took the advantage of introducing the Denim jeans into the catwalk industry hence hiked the price of the jeans. This made it almost impossible for the low earning members of the society to purchase the Denim jeans. In the early 1980s, there was a slight diminishing in the usage of the Denim jeans for official purposes (Ruhrberg & Walther, 2000, p. 45). Most of the Japanese designers discouraged the use of the jeans for official purposes hence the introduction of other official outfits. Most of the designers in Japanese slashed the uprising and usage of the Denim jeans to promote their own new official designs and textiles. For this reason, in the 1990s the media has predicted that there would be no more use of jeans in the new era. This was influenced by the increase in number of the competitors from other emerging nations. However, it was not until in the year 1990s when the new engineering jeans were introduced in the marketplaces (Miller & Woodward, 2012, p. 103).

The Denim jeans were popularly known in a close relationship with the Hawaiian shirts that most people preferred to march with the jeans. Since the Denim jeans did not need any official appearance, most of the people preferred completing the look with the Hawaiian shirts. Surfer Bruce Brown brought the Hawaiian shirts into light and who was also a filmmaker. After the launch of the film, ‘Endless Summer’, in the year 1964 most of the elderly and the young men preferred to wear the Hawaiian shirt (Steele, 2010, p. 109). This is for the key reason that the shirts made Bruce Brown to appear muscular and attractive in the film. The move marketed the Hawaiian shirts not only to the surfing population but to the other members of the community. All the young men preferred the outfit that comprised the Denim jeans and the Hawaiian shirt.
