mobile movie pre production

Planning is vital to the success of any project. This assessment requires you to submit a

proposal, script and storyboard which you will later produce into a short mobile movie. Using

the materials located on the unit website and from your pre-production workshop in session 5,

you will prepare a proposal, script and storyboard for your 30 second mobile movie. The

purpose of this assessment is to creatively explore a screen-related idea, characteristic or

theory covered in this unit. You may wish to draw inspiration from the unit readings, tutorial

exercises or discussion questions. Be playful, creative and innovative around the notion of the

‘screen’. You will be shown examples of mobile movies in lectures and tutorials to help you

consider the approach you might take.

Requirements

Proposal: In 300 words explain the screen concepts, theory or ideas that you are basing your

mobile movie on. Your proposal MUST refer to three (3) or more screen concepts covered in

the unit. Please use references to support your understanding and proposed application of the

concepts you have chosen.

Script and Storyboard: Once you have decided on the guiding concept(s) for your mobile

movie, start to brainstorm and plan towards the story and script. It is worth deciding on the

mobile device you will be using and doing some online research on the capabilities of the

device before you start the storyboard and script. Familiarise yourself with the mobile movie,

storyboard and script examples available on the unit website then think carefully about how

you see your mobile movie unfolding—Will there be characters? If so, who will they be? What

will they be doing? Will there be dialogue? Will there be a joke or punch line? Will there be

animation or captions? Music or sound? Will there be one take or many? Will you edit the

movie- if yes, think about how you will do this. It is strongly recommended that you consider

logistical questions such as these before you start your storyboard and script. Also be realistic

about what can be filmed in 30 seconds. The aim of your script and storyboard is to capture

the concept(s) of your movie in narrative and visual form. So that the guiding concepts of your

proposed mobile movie are clear, please make sure that you follow the conventions of scriptwriting

and storyboarding that you will learn about in the pre-production workshop and reading

for session five.

dont worry about storyboard as i will do it myself. proposal need at least 300 words. and rest of those word will be at script.

i had chosen Utopian sensibility and Escapism(which one session 3) but i need one more concepts so can you pls find another concept for me which i will upload my unit guide later.

select another concept that suit my story. you can slightly change my story if the third concept need to be suit.

my movie is about a student doing homework front of uni computer in dark light. facing computer but looking at his phone mobile try to escape on the current situation. smtg like that.

lecture said: The main idea for your mobile movie needs to be related to screen(s) in some way. Is there something that interests you most about screen culture or perhaps something you’d like to say about screen use today? You don’t have to include lots of different types of screens- you can focus on one if you want such as the TV or cinema. I suggest you think about the main idea first then draw in the relevant concepts.

– This sounds like a good start- why don’t you look at the concepts for topics 7-11 in the unit guide as you might find something related to mobile or small screens you can use.

btw, reference not really necessary. all by your word is fine.

thannks
