African art history
Writing Prompt: You are the Director of a multi-cultural art museum and are applying for a
$500,000 grant from the “Brown Arts Foundation” to purchase 3 traditional African art objects
OR contemporary artwork by African artists which will complement/enrich your art collection and
further educate the public about global art. Based on what you have learned in this course,
type a 4 – 5 page essay, explaining why your museum should receive this grant? Your
essay should demonstrate in depth knowledge of African history, cultures, and arts.
Also explain, why those particular artworks would complement/enrich your museum’s art

from the same museum OR from different museums.
