Literature Review
A literature review is a survey of existing research on a topic. Successful literature reviews do more than simply summarize existing research; they point out gaps in or problems with the research to suggest areas that require further study.
In this report you will conduct a literature review of the state of the art on a particular technology that relates to the Grand Challenge you have selected. Your research should draw mainly on peer-reviewed, academic publications.
You should also evaluate the significance of the research or technology you have chosen as your subject matter: Is it one of the main contenders in the field? Or is it an approach that is less well-known but promising? Not significant to the field?
Format
Your report should contain appropriate front matter and back matter, and an introduction, conclusion, and references documented in IEEE format.
The report should also include graphics that are properly labeled and referenced in the text. You are required to prepare at least one of these images yourselves: it may be a table or chart that summarizes and compares the existing technologies, or an illustration.
