This is a continuation of the EBP work that you did during your NURS 298 or 484 courses. You will have the opportunity to implement the EBP project that you proposed in one of those courses, in a clinical setting, evaluate its effectiveness, use change theory, implement the role of change agent, and work inter-professionally.
1. Access all the work that you did for NURS 298 or 484, your literature review, your PICO question and abstract. Take a look at your poster.
2. PICO question: Review your PICO question, with your leadership faculty, and then with the unit/agency staff.
P: Does the population that you chose for your PICO question match the population on the unit where you are doing clinical? If not, adjust your population
I: Intervention: Review the intervention that you are proposing? Is this intervention something that you think is feasible for implementation in your clinical setting?
C: Review the comparison group that you chose. Is this comparison group available at your clinical site? If not, adjust
O: Review your outcome. How will you measure the impact of the intervention? Explore what data is currently collected on the unit.
Submit your original PICO question and your revised PICO question on the discussion board by: March11, 2015
3. Literature Review: Analyze the literature review that you did for the original project. Is it up to date? Are you missing anything? Do you need to change anything based on any changes in the PICO question? If so, do so. Submit your literature review (revised) by: TBA
4. Implementation of the project: Use and apply Lewin’s change theory. Describe your role as change agent, and issues / strategies in unfreezing, moving, and refreezing. Include:
A description of the details of the practice change
What data will you need to measure the impact of the change? What outcome measures and data analysis will be used?
Where will you get the data?
Who will collect the data? E.g, what are the role(s) of inter-professional team members
Evaluate the impact of the change throughout the project. Was the practice change a success? Describe your indicators of “success.”
