Choose a set of data from your school (ISAT) to analyze. Consider the following about one section (you choose the section of the data)- what does that data show? What trends do you notice? Who needs to have access to this data? What changes need to take place based on the data? What needs to happen to get the data into an accessible form for all stakeholders? Use the questions to help you develop a one-page handout that you would use to discuss this data with your colleagues at a meeting.
For the data handout assignment, be sure to:
1. Get some data. Do not give me data with students names written on it. Instead describe the data. For example, I retrieved 6th grade reading achievement data from South Loop Elementary School for the years 2009 through 2013 from the Illinois interactive report card website. Remember, the website is in the power point from last night’s class. The power point is attached to this email.
2. Analyze the data by answering the questions from the assignment description in the syllabus
3. Tell which analysis technique you used when analyzing the data (cross-tabulation, disaggregation, longitudinal study)
4. You will NOT need to generate goals for the data.
