THE FILM FILES: that give order, concise reflections and foundation to your film
viewing
The following must be addressed in a clear, neat, systematic, lucid, concise and
thoughtful way:
Approx. 3,000 words…1 page for each of the following topics
1) a very brief biography of the film ́s director
2) a synopsis/summary of the film
3) the primary characters of the film (with the name of the corresponding actors)
and their personality traits, values, and function within the film ́s fabric
4) the presence and use of Diegetic and non-Diegetic sounds
5) the emotional range expressed in the film
6) the essential themes/motifs/symbols in the film–play especially close attention
to the function of OBJECTS and COLORS in addition to the central THEMES
7) the most memorable scene–and justify your selection!!
8) Historical and cultural indicators present in the film
9) concluding commentary and three (3) questions you would ask the director
