In your essay, consider the following:
• Why detection of the emotions of others is important for infants
• Developmental changes in emotion detection from birth to 24 months
You may also consider potential disruptions to typical development in emotion detection/recognition or cultural variation in emotion detection/recognition or individual differences in emotion detection/recognition.
Your evidence should come from at least 10 peer reviewed journal articles published no earlier than 2004. You are not required to use the key readings, but if you do, they will count towards your 10 peer reviewed journal articles. It is possible to use articles published before 2004 or other sources, but they will not count towards your 10 articles.
*Note, although there are slight differences in the meaning of emotion detection and emotion recognition it is acceptable to use the terms interchangeably in your essay.
