The student “PW” prepared a response to the case study based on the following information:

The case of Yinscape and Yanngsearch was designed to provide minimal information on this merger/acquisition. You are required to re-read the assignment and imagine or envision the shape and spirit of a newly-merged, cross national company. You are to assume the role of Yinscape’s CEO. In this role, you must envision a new future for the combined companies. Your paper should describe how you will communicate your vision, as though addressing a meeting of Yinscape and Yansearch’s top managers shortly after the acquisition. Creating a compelling vision is a task that requires forethought and sensitivity. In addition, the challenge is increased based on how to communicate that vision to a potentially hostile audience. In preparing your paper, consider what questions and concerns you should anticipate; think realistically about the possible results of the meeting and decide on what steps to take immediately after the speech.

Use APA format and include proper headings and the following must be addressed to the highest standard.

All key components of the instructions are addressed in the paper.

PW’s Response to Case Study

This discussion board posting is written on the Yinscape and Yangsearch case study. The Internet firm Yinscape located in Mumbai India acquired the American competitor Yangsearch with the assistance of a wealthy private investor (Jick, Peiperl, 2011). This acquisition now requires the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to set the tone for the future, creation of a vision statement and how to communicate the message to the stakeholders.
Vision
A vision statement is a “formal articulation of an organization’s vision or mission” that imprints the overarching goal and purpose in the minds of the stakeholders (Robbins & Judge, 2009, p. 415). Satterlee (2013) explains the vision statement provides a big picture of the preferred future of commitment and goals. Jick and Peiperl (2011) describe a vision statement as an “organizational dream” to “stretch the imagination” of what is possible (p. 114).
Process
The CEO of Yinscape must create organizational value for the stakeholders (William Phanuel, 2012, p. 98). The vision should not solely be about gaining understanding; the majority of the effort should be about creating alignment (Cady, Wheeler, DeWolf, &Brodke, 2011). According to Jick and Peiperl (2011) vision can be developed individually, through a leader-senior team or a bottom-up environment. The individual approach assumes leadership is the key based on legitimate power. The leader-senior team vision development is an informal collaborative approach. The bottom-up method allows creativity if conducted through a gathering of ideas from individuals possessing the ability to influence others (Jick&Peiperl, 2011).
Communicating vision
Jick and Peiperl (2011) explain managers possessing the ability to “(1) appeal to a common purpose, (2) communicate expressively, and (3) sincerely believe in what they are saying” are successful in providing a vision (p. 117). The vision should go beyond the initial rebuilding years. Assuming this student is the CEO of Yinscape and presenting a vision for the future of the company to stakeholders the use of a bottom-up method would be chosen.
The newly acquired operation base is located on a different continent with a separate value system and product focus. This student would first spend time at both locations gaining knowledge, interacting with employees and gaining a feel for the culture. Patience in the process is key to fully understanding the values and goals of the employees. With this information in hand the next step would be to present the information to both bases of operation. The creation of a new organizational structure to establish boundaries and develop new processes is the next step in the process (Jick&Peiperl, 2011).
The final approach would include both base locations in the final meaning of the vision statement. The official announcement would be held at the main headquarters, broadcasted live, to all stakeholders. Mr. John Keith (n.d.) explained that for the engagement to be measured the follow up and feedback would be critical for building organizational trust. Habakkuk 2:3 (ESV) demonstrates to us patience,
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end – it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
