Assignment 2 – Diagrams of Stage/backstage, lighting plot, and the main room including electrical power estimates – 250 points
Diagrams must be done of 1) the stage and backstage area, 2) the entire main room area, 3) basic lighting plot diagram, 4) estimate of electrical needs for lighting only. Entire main room area diagram to be done on Meeting Matrix; stage/backstage area may be done on Meeting Matrix or by hand; lighting plot to be done by hand. Compile with electrical needs into one document.
Purpose: Diagramming skills are essential for event production, and are expected to be done in a professional manner, as would be necessary for fire marshal approval. This means complete and done to scale. Lighting plot is not expected to be as professional as done by lighting designer, but needs to be to a rough scale, and indicating selection of lights and placement. Electrical needs will be calculated from lighting plot, along with information provided in class for generic power needs for lighting board.
