This project aims to synthesise and characterise new quaternary perovskite oxide materials which exhibit both ferromagnetic and ferroelectric behaviour. Perovskite oxides have several properties of interest; ferromagnetic and ferroelectric properties are considered among the most important. Of the perovskites the quaternary perovskites are of particular interest for the study of storage media due to the coexistence of ferroelectric and ferromagnetic properties.
