*You will want to begin your paper with an introduction which includes background for the book. Why was it written? Who was Mitch Albom? How did the book come about? Do not just jump into the lesson you select but rather give some background for the work.
*You will want to end your paper with a conclusion which summarizes what you intended to do in the paper. You are free to comment on your reaction to the book in the conclusion.
INTRODUCTION AND CONCLUSION=10 POINTS
*You will want to select one (AND ONLY ONE) lesson from the many that Morrie offers. Be sure and note all of the important points he made in the lesson. What was Morrie trying to convey in the lesson? The lessons are short but important points are made in each. Make sure you clearly note which lesson you are addressing.
LESSON=20 POINTS
*You must include a discussion of an event or personal experience that led you to select this lesson as most meaningful to you. It is not enough to say “I liked this particular lesson.” Tell me why you selected it.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE=20
*Even though you are limited to this one source you must provide a reference page and you must include citations if you quote directly from the book.
If you quote directly indicate it by noting the author and the page number. For example, if the quote you use is from page 20 you will follow the quote like this (Albom,20). The period follows the quote, not the end of the sentence.
