View a “Criminal Court” themed television show or movie and report on the comparisons between what “Hollywood” and the textbook present about the criminal courts. You will also need to interview a person that is currently, or has previously worked in the criminal courts. Your interview will focus on the two points of comparison explained below and does not have to be conducted in person. You may conduct a phone or email interview if you wish.
The choice of what show or movie you view is up to you. Just be sure that it focuses directly on the criminal courts and is of sufficient length and detail to answer all of the required questions. In particular, you will need to identify two different issues, depictions, or concepts of criminal courts that you will use for comparative purposes between the movie/show, the textbook, and your interview with a criminal court official.
Your written report will need to be typed in WORD, double-spaced, with 10 to 12 pt. font size, be between 2 and 4 pages (at least 2 full pages) in length, and include all of the following:
The name of the movie or television show that you viewed.
The name and title (include name of agency) of the criminal court official that you interviewed.
The reasons why you chose to view this particular criminal court show and interview this particular person.
Your overall impressions of the criminal court show/movie that you viewed.
Your impressions of the criminal court official that you interviewed.
A summary of the two points of comparison between what the show/movie, the textbook, and the criminal courts official teaches about the criminal courts (this portion of the paper is the most significant and should take up at least one full page).
The long-term impact of the experience on you (including whether you are more or less interested in law as a possible career).
