I need to write a master thesis within public health. It should be a systematic study of literature. It should be organised as an article seen in journal, including abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion. It should be between 10000-15000 words including references, footnotes, front page, tables, figures, but not including appendices.
The aim of the thesis is as follows:
The aim of the thesis is to conduct a scoping review of studies examining the association between attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and different substance use outcomes, i.e. use, abuse, dependence or disorder.
A particular emphasis will be placed on studies examining the dimensions of ADHD – i.e. inattention, hyperactivity and/or impulsivity – and their distinct (independent) associations on different substance use outcomes, i.e. use, abuse, dependence or disorder. An overview of the findings of the type and quantity of studies examining the above-mentioned associations will be presented; to briefly summarize the research findings; and to identify research gaps on this particular area.
Research questions have not yet been (fully) formulated, but should include the followings:
– In individuals with ADHD, what is known about the associations between ADHD and substance use outcomes, i.e. use, abuse, dependence or substance use disorder?
– In particular, what is known about the distinct associations between inattention, hyperactivity and/or impulsivity and different substance use outcomes, i.e. use, abuse, dependence or substance use disorder?
(distinct associations refer to “not confounded” by omorbid conditions, such as other behavioral disorders (conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder) or associated psychopathology)
– In terms of study design and data availability, what types of studies and to what extent, are available in the field of ADHD and substance use?
I would need help in finding the data and writing the methods. That should be approx 1300-1500 words.
