CURRENT AFFAIRS POSTS

CURRENT AFFAIRS POSTS:

• You will select (click on) your **topics from one of these sources: CNN.com, the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Christian Science Monitor, and the USA Today. If you click on the CNN.com link, you will select your topic from either the Home, U.S., World, or Politics tab. If you click on the Washington Post link, you will simply select your topic from Politics, National, or World tabs. If you click on the New York Times link, you will simply select your topic from World, U.S., or Politics tabs. If you click on the Christian Science Monitor link, you will simply select your topic from World, USA, or Culture tabs. If you click on the USA Today link, you will simply select your topic from the News (which has other links underneath it like Nation, World, Washington, Elections, etc.) or Opinion tabs.
**You are free to select your topics from any of the categories on each of the sites, but you must make sure that the topic connects and is relevant to our government course. I have highlighted tabs, i.e. U.S. Politics, World, etc. because I know that these tabs are more likely to have topics that are suitable for the course and the post, but you are free to search in the other tabs not listed as well. Just make sure that the topic is relevant to our government course — that is, there is a connection with your topic and government, elections, civil liberties, civil rights, federalism, etc. I hope this makes sense.
Each post must be a minimum of 100 words (or a small paragraph). (This small paragraph alone is 125 words). In order to ensure that you submit the minimum of 100 words, you should type your response in a Word document and then copy and paste the text to the dropbox text area. I strongly encourage you to use this method because Microsoft Word has a word count that is typically found at the bottom of the document and increases as you type words. This way, there is no need to track or have to go back and count how many words you have typed. Note: Any post that does not meet the minimum of 100 words will be penalized at least a letter grade.
