The technological and cultural revolution that replaced the domestic system and created the factory system posed a host of new management problems. Mainly, difficulties in: 1. melding new technologies, materials, organizational functions, and productive processes in an efficient manner; 2. acquiring, developing, stimulating, and controlling human behavior; and 3. fusing both of these facets together to accomplish the organization’s overall objectives. The pioneers discussed within Chapters 4, 5, and 6 of our text may have been alive and working within a different sociocultural, political, and competitive environment than we are currently living in, however, their work and theories have transcended their time and still serve to inform our understanding of management and organizations today. Select one of the following pioneers from our CH 4-6 readings this week. Choose an individual whose ideas and theories regarding management and/or organizations, you believe, have specifically impacted an organization you have experienced.
