Naturalistic Fallacy

2-3 page paper responding to the following: “In 21st century America, many of our interactions with the environment are grossly unnatural, and therefore morally wrong.” You can approach this assignment in a number of different ways, but your paper should include at least the following (click on VIEW RUBRIC link above for more details): — An explicit statement of your thesis — At least one example of our relationship with the environment that can arguably be classified as “unnatural.” — A description of the distinction between descriptive statements and normative judgments — A description of what philosophers call the “Naturalistic Fallacy” — An argument for your thesis The most important thing to remember as you write your paper is communication. Think of the paper as a means of effectively communicating to your reader what your view is and why you have this view. Note also that you should not think of your instructor as the audience. Instead, imagine that you are trying to communicate your point of view to a reasonably intelligent peer of yours. A note on the Introduction: In your introductory paragraph, make sure to include a sentence that states explicitly where you stand on the issue. This will be your thesis. For example, write something like ” in this paper I will argue that many of our interactions with the environment are unnatural, and therefore morally wrong,” OR “in this paper I will argue that even though our many of our interactions with the environment are unnatural, this does not make them morally wrong.
