Investigate school finance in your school by examining federal, state and local sources of funding by research and/or by interviewing the site and/or district administrator in charge of school/district finances. Report on the sources of funding and major steps in the budget development process. Specifically identify what and how your school district has implemented the changes in the budget process this year. Be sure to identify and include the outreach efforts to the community. What political ethical and/or economic forces have influenced decisions on how resources have been allocated in your district this year? Define/describe your district’s financial plan. Define what if anything, your district has done differently in allocation due to the local control that they now have. Write a summary of the research and interview(s), including the vision and goals are supported, as well as the CCTC standard(s) focus of this class.
