The essays should analyze technique, focus on themes or imagery, comment on characterization, or examine political or cultural motifs in Kieslowski’s film’s Blind Chance and No End. These papers will not only demonstrate your grasp of the important elements of each set of films or individual films, but also encourage analytical film viewing and exercise writing skills. While the content of the essays is relatively flexible, it should NOT consist of plot summary. Rather, each paper should consist of your own, original analysis of a given film, and should appear in standard, scholarly English.
