PART ONE
Contemporary issues are the problems that affect human beings on a daily basis and tend not to have an end. These either issues affect the common person’s working condition and affect his work positively or negatively (Mackinnon, 2011). The contemporary issues include drug abuse, food shortage, spreading and control of diseases, poverty and media influence on the child. The high cost of living influences most of the contemporary issues that revolve around the society. For instance, when the economy drops the food prices rise in order to maintain the economy of the world. This will eventually develop into a situation whereby the rich only obtain a balanced diet, and good medical services (Hoy, 2006).
The less fortunate people who cannot achieve the balanced diet end up suffering from the diseases that require cash to treat. Therefore, the less fortunate people will not receive any medical services since they do not have the money required for the treatment. This leaves the people with hard choices to make, to either treat the sick with the money or provide a meal to the rest members of the family (Miskel, 2006). The people and the laws that the government has enacted affect the development of most African countries. For instance, most countries in Africa still live and depend on the cultural ways and this makes the people lead their own lives without any influence from external forces. In some countries in the world, land belongs to the community therefore no agriculture takes place to sustain the economy and fight the poverty and the issue on food shortages.
Contemporary issues such as social factors within a society originate from a social view such as the media, which includes the television and other sources of entertainment. For instance, the media affects the society because it spreads irrelevant issues that mostly affect the youth. The media has played a biggest role in teen pregnancies and underage sexual habits. This happens in that the children after watching they end up replicating the habits and try later. The social media has misled many youths who become burden in the society (Green, 2011).
PART TWO
How do the Americans define and view homelessness?
Indeed England is far much better than America. England helps the people by providing a free home to them and keeping regular checks on the person. Unlike, America introduces the homeless person to a home or hostel that you pay for while staying in them. America has no much concern on the homeless as compared to England (Hardman, 2011). America should also have considered the homeless people who lack any source of income and provide charity homes freely to the homeless people. Homeless people lack money to sustain them and may end up choosing to live in ditches or at secluded places where they may endanger their lives. To curb this problem the governments should reduce the cases of unemployment and asses the homeless people to come up with an appropriate solution.
Most governments leave the issue to the society around the homeless person. The homeless person will live under the care of the neighbors and the well-wishers and may end up as a troublemaker. This happens after the person stays without finding a source of income then he or she might end up into a thief or a bugler, which makes it a greater loss to the people (Ken, 2011). The American government needs to emulate from the England government on the system on how it helps resettle the homeless. This will make the people comfortable work harder since the government is also responsible and concerned about their welfares that will help fight and resolve the contemporary issues within that given society.
