An essay analyzing the books “Macbeth” and “Doctor Faustus”

Motivation and drive are key elements in both Macbeth and Faustus. Consider and compare the actions both characters choose towards their goals. Compare and contrast the sources of their motivation and why each made their respective choices. Conclude which character’s plight seems more tragic to you. Explain.
NOTES:
1) in this paper I need a brief introduction giving a very brief summary about the two books and how they are related and at the end of it a very specific thesis statement relating to the essay’s topic. then body paragraphs with specific topic sentences about your claims.
2) SHOWING EVIDENCE for your claims by USE OF QUOTES its the most important thing!!! please cite every quote from the books like this: (Marlowe, 1.2.20-23) which from left to right is the author’s family name, act, scene, lines.
3) Do not dwell on personal anecdotal information. This is about analyzing the play itself and not a personal narrative. stay within the plays as it exists. Don’t speculate about what might have been done differently or what you would have preferred.
4) play information: 1. “Doctor Faustus” by Christopher Marlowe. edited and with an introduction by Sylvan Barnet / 2. “Macbeth” by William Shakespeare. edited by Barbara A. Mowat and Paul Werstine.
