It is a form of an established agreement between the management and the members of a particular team. The team charter helps in defining the responsibilities and roles of each team members depending on individual personality, background skills, and level of trust. It is worth noting that the level of trust deeply affects our team relations as well as the purpose of identification process. Our team charter provides our mission, laid down goals, commitment of each group member in ensuring that all our mission and goals are fully accomplished. The way we perceive each other and the way in which our perception affects our opinions determines our team’s success. It is through our judgment and perception towards each other that we can make critical decisions concerning our team performance. Our team charter will help in delegating different responsibilities to each different team member while considering our different personalities. Before chartering we need to consider different personality, listening skills and trust level of every team member in order to ensure that our team performs at its best. Posting our trust levels, listening skills and personality types will help our team charter in enhancing our performance.
Evidently, our team is composed of three members two of whom have INTJ personality t while the other has ENTP personality. These two traits can help our team in performing exemplarily if our team charter provides roles and responsibilities that are in line with our different personalities. Our team charter should allow the two team members with INTJ to take the role of getting new ideas and theories that will ensure growth of our team. These two individuals will show full commitment in the team and at the same time they are good listeners, therefore our team charter should allow the two individuals to apply their capability and intelligence in enhancing the mission and goals which are stipulated in our team charter. The two individuals are confident in all the group undertakings and they are not threatened by any criticism. They are therefore suitable for bringing in new ideas to the group (Mackin, 2007).
On the hand, the individual with ENTP traits should act as the group leader since she has good communication skills, popular, enthusiastic, charming, take team work seriously, flexible and easy to work with. The individual is interested in the expansion and growth of our team. Our charter team should allow this individual to take the leadership of the team because the individual posses leadership traits. At the same time the individual has extensive ideas which would allow the team to show good performances in all its group work. By being a charming person the individual with ENTP can generate excitement in the team that would subsequently help in reducing boredom and at the same improve the team motivation thereby enhancing the team performance (Mackin, 2007).
As a leader this team member will bring in good ideas as well as suggestions which will help in formulating discussions. Since she is an easy person to work with, the two individuals with INTJ personalities will be able to work with her. INTJ individuals tend to believe that they are always right, the qualities of the leader of our team will help her in making them synthesis their ideas which they hold to be right through enthusiastic discussions. This action will help them realize whether they are right or wrong without any conflict creation. In addition the leader who is in possession of ENTP qualities will help in creating cohesiveness through motivation and inspiration (Mackin, 2007).
