My research is about “Applying GoF design patterns using a structured process”
So far there is no structured way to learn, recognize and apply GoF design patterns and all existing knowledge is based on AD-hoc way that developer choose based on their experience, intelligence, etc.
I have created a model that reduces the complexity of applying design patterns, now I need to do a lit-review to see what have been done in this area and what is missing.
Your main focus should be in two areas : software design and related methodologies as well as GoF Patterns and knowledge around it,
– Software design concept itself and existing knowledge around it
For example existing methods for software design their pros and cons
o Procedural design
o Object Oriented design
o Aspect Oriented design
o Test Driven design
o Domain Driven Design
o Model Based Design
– The history of GoF Design patterns
– People who involve in GoF design patterns and their findings
– Formulas, techniques to learn, apply design patterns
– The relationship among Gof Design patterns
While the main focus of an academic research paper is to support your own argument, the focus of a literature review is to summarize and synthesize the arguments and ideas of others
“The purpose of a literature review is: to demonstrate your ability to
1. identify the relevant information and outline existing knowledge;
2. identify the “gap” in the research that your work will address;
3. produce a rationale or justification for your study.“
Remember, the literature review organizes the previous research in the light of what you are planning to do in your own project
The review should therefore also demonstrate to the reader why the writer’s research is useful, necessary, important, and valid
I need a lit-review for “GoF Design patterns” along with an Annotated bibliography.
1. The Lit-Review itself should be around 40 pages in APA format.
2. The sources should be from top Scholarly or Academic journals, dissertations, and valid sources
– Scholarly journals are peer-reviewed, academic, refereed, or professional journals, relating to a particular academic discipline.
– Academic journals serve as forums for the introduction and presentation for examination of new research, and the critique of existing research. Content typically takes the form of articles presenting original research, review articles, and book reviews.
