Architecture

Architecture
Architecture is an art that not all about construction of buildings. It also entails the plan of the building. The buildings rose from architecture exhibit elements of art. In this case, every construction symbolizes a gesture in a certain culture. Considering these facts, it is clear that, a building cannot be referred to as an art if it does not express a cultural symbol in its form. Its expense cannot reflect any element of art. Generally, architecture is a form of art that involves scheming and construction of buildings (Ballantyne, p.10).
Architecture is a very wide type of art. It entails many sub-topics and concepts that totally define the immediate surroundings. These involve factors such as, function and form. A building should be most suitable for its purpose. For example, a schooling structure should be spacious, having classified rooms for conducting different lectures. This is an example of the function of the building. Form involves the design and the symbol of the building. This is where art is exhibited in the design of the building. This can include the different color combinations and the shapes of the building (Harries, p.9).
In architecture, big revolutions have come in with the change of time therefore resulting to improvement in this field. The art approach that is used currently is not the same as the one that existed in the past. Surrealism has dominated the world of art and has eliminated the ancient ways of art. These changes have been accompanied with technological inventories in the world of art. In present days, technology has evolved the way of design in architecture. It has also originated with new concepts in all architectural aspects. This has made work easier, faster and neater in the architectural world (Dzambazova, p. xv).
Technology in Architecture
The technological inventions have made a difference in fields such as style and design. This is referred to as modernism in architecture. An approach known as post-modernism is made-up by the technological inventions. In post modernism, there is categorization of the styles. This is whereby; even architects are regarded to be up to date. The classifications of architectural styles are numerous. The first classification is the metabolic, metaphoric and anthropomorphic architecture (Pollinton, p.10).
Architectural Classifications
Metabolic, metaphoric and anthropomorphic Architecture
A metaphor is an aspect of art that brings out a symbolic meaning. This similar application is used in the metaphoric architecture. The designer of the building has a goal of expressing a significant symbol by using the function and the context of the meaning. This type of classification is also known as symbolic architecture. His meaning is reflected in the appearance of the building. The metaphor can be derived from different social or cultural aspects in the designer’s disposal. When the metaphor relates to a person’s physical nature, it is referred to as anthropomorphic architecture (Pollington, p. 12).
Metabole is a Greek word, which means a living being with physiological functions within it. This word gives a basis to the terminology metabolic architecture. This form of architecture involves use of building capsules, which work collectively towards adaptability of the construction. The construction style works as a system to ensure the stability of the building, and posing resistance to any form of change that can damage the building. The whole system is supported by the use of building capsules (Pollington, p. 13).
Neo-classicist Architecture
This is another form of architecture that can also be called neo-historic architecture. This form of architecture came and faced out the historic ways of architecture. Its inventions are mainly machinery in the world of architecture. This new approach in architecture extracted the essence of the historic architecture and then negated the old system. The themes and principles in this system are classical but not similar to the historic system. Generally, it improvised the historic architecture, and as a result, the style is totally diversified from the ancient style. The reflection of the historic architecture is minimal. This style is observable in the industrialized countries (Pollington, p.13).
Neo modern architecture
In this architecture style, everything is high-tech. Despite the success and popularity of the neo-classicist style, artists still dwelled on the neo-modern style. Diversities in architecture were experienced in this style. Architects started to use new inventories in the production of their work. The up grading of the neo-classicist style was also exhibited in this architectural approach. Architects evoked the simple and clear lines in the neo-classicist style. The neo-modern style is characterized by decoration and graphics. In the neo-classicist style, ornamentation and decoration were neglected. Decoration and ornamentation is a factor that existed in the historic style. This is the only factor that is borrowed by the neo-modern style from the historic style (Pollington, p.14).
In the current world, technology has dominantly affected the world of architecture positively. The methods of designing are more simplified, accurate and neat when observed. This even gives the field of architecture more popular to those who might have a dream to per sue it. Currently, the most popular style is the late modern style. As mentioned before, in this style everything uses high technology to produce a magnificent work. This can dwell most on the designing of the buildings. A good example of technological invention in architecture is the Revit Architecture.
Revit Architecture
This invention in architecture enables an architect to come up with a magnificent desired production without him necessarily being a computer wizard. This is a program the aids in the field of architecture. This new invention brings the new era of Building Information Modeling (BIM). In this kind of system, a computer program is used in the design and in producing the plan of the building. This computer technology has substituted the drawings and calculations that are done on manuscripts. In paper work, the plans and design for complex and large buildings are contained in very long scriptures (Dzambazova, p.3).
When it comes to Revit Architecture, the architect can design a very sophisticated building using a minimal and compact working space. In the new technology, the diagrams also give a clear and defined view of the building plan. This program is also composed of accurate calculations and formulae. Consequently, in this setup there are no errors and bulkiness in the work. The design of the building can easily be analyzed and evaluated. Corrections are also easy to make. In current days, architects are raising very sophisticated buildings. This is due to the technological invention. Architecture keeps growing with the growth of technology. The way of planning and constructing buildings grows to be more complex as more technological inventions are used (Dzambazova, p.3).
