Choose an action performed by a character in a novel, film, TV show, etc.
In the first part of your paper, you should:
– Describe the dilemma the character faces and the context of the action
– Describe the action the character takes in response to this dilemma/context
– Discuss the reasons the character seems to appeal to for acting in this way
2. Assess this action in terms of either Kant’s moral theory or Utilitarianism.
In the second part of your paper, you should:
– Explain the theory you have chosen and how it applies to the action in question.
– Run through the steps involved in applying the theory you have chosen, and explain the considerations that are relevant for this theory.
– Conclude that the action is either ethical or unethical, according to this theory, based on these considerations.
