Bridging Theory

Final Project — Bridging Theory and Practice Leadership Paper

Throughout the term you have been introduced to the concepts of the language of leadership. These concepts take on many forms and are articulated both effectively and ineffectively through message and story. Your Final Paper is a summation of thoughts and theoretically-based concepts on the effectiveness of your selected leader’s message and story. Consider and reflect upon classroom Discussions and theoretical learning throughout the term as you prepare and construct your summative paper.

There are four (4) primary quality indicators for the Final Project including: Responsiveness to Paper or Writing Assignment; Content Knowledge; Quality of Writing; and Research, Scholarship, and Professional Style. The Final Project has a total of 300 points. The Rubric (below) is a guide on elements that should be included in your Final Project.

Final Project — Bridging Theory and Practice Leadership Paper

In order to assess understanding and critical application of the language of leadership, thus bridging theory into practice, you will be completing a summative paper for this course. The paper should be at least 15 pages and not more than 18 pages of developed content and include, at a minimum, the following Level 1 section headings. (Refer to APA 6th, pages 62–63, for additional information regarding heading levels in APA form and style.) The Final Project is due by Day 7 of Week 10.

In order to facilitate your research activities, content development, and contextual application for the project, you will have assigned activities beginning in Week 5 related to sourcing of scholarly research, abstracting key findings from research publications, and developing a paper outline—as well as the final development and submission of your Final Project.

Additional information for the Final Project can be found in the “Final Project Overview” document, the Final Project Rubric, and through feedback (on your submitted assignments) provided by your Instructor throughout the term.

This is like the cream of the final paper since it touches on the most parts of the final paper segment. Basically the book addresses the various distinctions between power, leadership and being in positions of influence.  More specifically, it addresses how the leaders can effectively be involved in the development of better leadership strategies within an organizational structure without focusing on power necessarily.  When researching for the book, there was a difficulty in finding one which specifically addresses organizational leadership since most of them are on politics and national positions.

Rutherford, S. (2011).Women’s work, Men’s cultures: Overcoming resistance and changing organizational cultures, New York: Palgrave Macmillan.

This is the database from where this particular reference source was obtained. The text addresses the whole issue of leadership by women in the societies and organizations where the cultures place women at subordinate levels to the men and therefore cannot be in positions of leadership. In the later pages of this masterpiece, it provides an avenue through which women can successfully come out of this shells of resistance and be leaders of their own. It is important for this study. The difficulties experienced while looking for it was that of scarcity. There are a few books that address this topic.
