In the “Mediations”, Decartes contends that that “mind (the thinking thing) and corporeal matter (the extended thing) are distinct from each other. He argues, in particular, that the mind and body are so. In this paper you must explain what this multi – part claim means and how Descartes arrives at this conclusion.
