The goals of the assignment are to evaluate your ability to:
1. Draft a text;
2. Identify your essays thesis;
3. Identify the topic sentence of each paragraph.
Instructions:
1. Write the draft of your final project (essay or poster). Remember, your work should defend a
specific thesis on the history of technology using evidence, arguments, and objections.
Excellent work will use a number of authoritative information sources to support their
conclusion.
2. Your draft should contain all needed citations (to avoid plagiarism charges) and a complete
bibliography (APA Manual of Style). Short essays and posters require a minimum of 4 sources,
long essays a minimum of 5. The bibliography does not count towards the drafts length.
3. Once your draft is complete, you MUST do the following:
Put each sentences containing YOUR thesis in bold characters. Since your thesis should
appear at least once in the introduction and once in the conclusion, you should have to
put at least two of your sentences in bold characters.
Underline the topic sentence of all your paragraphs (some paragraphs may not have a
topic sentence at this point, this is normal).
