I want you create a prospectus for my topic “”Did Lincoln actually want to emancipate slaves?” You should use 1 book for “Yes”, and 1 book for “No”, You can use three other three sources(Journal, Article) for each side. Thus, the total sources are 8. I want to you make an outline(Please see the prospectus guideline below), and I will give two additional weeks to finish the entire essay if I like your prospectus.
*You don’t have to use difficult words and sentence structures.
[A prospectus is a formal proposal that includes a detailed description for a project.
The goal of a prospectus is to explain the main components of your paper, the key evidence, and the sources of that evidence. It should be about one typed page in order to explain only the first two sections of your paper.
I am essentially looking for a road map of your paper and something that shows me what evidence you have found so far. This is also used to make sure that you have an acceptable topic that will work for this paper. The more information you can provide me the better – if you have constructed a question that is not acceptable for the paper, I might be able to use the information you do have to guide you towards a good topic. On the other hand, if you have constructed a question that is not acceptable for the paper and your prospectus is “bare bones”/does not go into enough detail, I won’t have anything to work with and will not be able to offer much guidance. The prospectus must include the following information:
The question you intend to answer (aka, your topic),
A single sentence thesis statement for Section 1 & 2,
The key points that support each side of the argument (Sections 1 & 2), and
The specific sources where you found this information. ]
[Structure of the Term Paper]
The paper will consist of a cover page, works cited page, and three distinct and individual sections. The paper should pose a clear question that can be argued from two perspectives. The easiest way to check if your paper is on the right track is to see if your question can be answered as a “yes” or “no.”
Structure of the Term Paper
Section 1. Using one of the suggested texts below or one of your own sources, choose a historical event/topic and make your argument from that single perspective. This section will include a thesis with two or three points to support your argument, and only addresses the “yes” side of the debate. This section should be a minimum of two full pages in length.
Section 2. Using a second source from one of the suggested texts below or one of your own sources, make your argument from the opposing perspective. This section will include a thesis with two or three points to support your argument, and only addresses the “no” side of the debate. This section should be a minimum of two full pages in length.
Section 3. This is an opinion section where you must decide what the “right” answer is. One explanation of the event should sound more believable to you than the other. Choose either account and tell me why you believe that it is the best explanation of events. Your first two sections are one sided arguments; this is the portion of the paper where you must analyze the two outlooks, choose a side, and support your argument with evidence. As a suggestion to those who have not written an argumentative paper before, the traditional format consists of first discrediting the evidence of the other side and then go on to support your belief. If you believe that both sides are credible and the truth lies in the middle, you can make that argument by drawing information from both sides to explain why you believe your perspective to be the truth. This section should also be a minimum of 2 pages in length.
Here are some questions you may want to consider for section three:
Are there specific facts that differ between the two texts?
Do the textbook and the optional texts look at different evidence or interpret the same evidence in a different way? Which method makes more sense?
Are either of the sources biased? Are they judging events in the past or analyzing them?
