It has long been accepted that high quality corporate governance has helped the long-term performance of companies, and, since its introduction, companies have been led in the right direction over the long term. Since 1992, in the UK, various recommendations of the Cadbury Report have been added to and in 1998 the Combined Code came into existence. Since then various updates have taken place leading to the issue of the UK Corporate Governance Code in September 2014
