Dissemination Evidence Summary

Dissemination Evidence Summary
The American Dental Association defines evidence based guidelines as “systematically developed statements about specific clinical problems intended to assist practitioners and patients in making decisions about appropriate health care.” (ADA Center for Evidence-based Dentistry, 2011) The dissemination of results is an important factor in understanding, developing and maintaining the practice and outcome for correct practices in nursing.
According to (Kerner, Rimer, & Emmons, 2005), dissemination is the process of making the outcomes and deliverables of a project available to the stakeholders and to the wider audience. Henceforth the findings from the project should be availed to the key stakeholders in order to present on the project development, get feedback and then assure that the practice and outcome will be maintained after the implementation of the project. In the practice of nursing, it is important to note that the key stakeholders include the director of Nursing for Maternal and Child Health (DC in NICU), CEO of the hospital, Director of Pediatrics, Director of research department and Director of physical therapy. Anyone else who is concerned about infant health and welfare can be considered as a stakeholder according to rank.
In a dissemination planning form, it is important to state that, ‘Activities identified and documented on the form should be incorporated into the project work plan and timelines in order to assist a certain course. (Yale Center for Clinical Investigation). To give the project the high profile and attention that it deserves, workshops, surveys and conferences have to be incorporated. The members of the NICU community get a chance to be able to communicate whatever they want with the stake holders therefore improving the quality of the presented findings.
In conclusion, dissemination is an important and necessary component in order to learn more about patients and improve on the outcomes. The main target should be community based, academic health care and outpatient clinical setting. (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2013)
