The paper is about Britain’s portrayal of empire or might and what it is in reality. It can focus on the strengths, weakness and contributions to the world.
The main focus should be onFINANCES and how that helped them build an empire (via funding/FINANCING
wars, trading etc.) What is the current standing of Britain as an empire? How did what the empire stole (real property or ideas such as financing
wars from Dutch) add to their abilities to expand as an empire? How did trading play a part? What has been the historical financial standing of Britain?
Is the empire still just doing what is best in regards to itself in the union (ie currency, “opt-outs”, refunds within the contractual agreements of the common agricultural policy)?
Does Britain want to maintain their air of empire by keeping the national currency? Does the possible exit of the union speak to the idea that British still regard themselves as a powerful empire and is that supported in finances or any other terms?
