The purpose of these reports (three in total) is to allow the student to delve more deeply into the areas of social welfare and social work. Topics selected will require critical thinking and the presentation of a commentary that is well thought, fully developed and presented from the social work perspective. Please organize your thoughts and develop your viewpoints from an informed knowledge base. It is therefore suggested that you use an outline to help in the formulation of your thoughts; this will enable you to develop a more clear understanding of what is being asked and minimize your being overwhelmed by too much information.
Written reports must be typed, double spaced; and no more than three (3) pages in length. Please pay attention to margins, structure of your paper as well as any large spaces in your report; for visually unattractive papers can make reading difficult. Make careful note of your grammar, sentence structure and spelling as well for these errors can take away from the intent and sentiment of your paper. In other words, read over your paper before final submission in order to detect and correct such errors. And while this assignment reflects an opinionated point of view, any formal sources used in its preparation should be referenced accordingly.
